What is the best car to buy brand new for your money?

Looking to buy a brand new car. I am looking for something efficient and economical, and most importantly, reliable (won’t break down, no high maintenance costs, low insurance rates). I don’t necessarily mean a cheap car, but I mean which car will provide the above criteria and will get me the most for my money?

england or america?
i saw some answers like ford falcon. they don’t make those over here in america anymore.
don’t get a prius.
they suck.
any toyota except the yaris, and all Honda’s
lexus, mazda and acura are good.
if its only you, camry, accord, civic, or corolla.
mazda 3 is dependable as anything, its really safe, and use full for cargo.
if you want a more upscale car, i would go with an acura over a lexus, they ride like a pillow and are more economical.
are you a parent?
if you need to cart around kids, try a camry or accord, and if you haul pets and cargo, land cruiser or sequoia will fit your bill. the honda pilot is a better choice than the Toyota’s, but it has more road noise. do NOT get any VW’s. we had one, and it was noisy, ugly, broke down, smelly, it was just horrible.
hope this helps, if you need more detail just ask.

There are tons of places where you can get an online quote. http://www.goodonlinedeals.com/Auto-Insurance.html It only takes roughly 10 minutes to do.

vw jetta diesel, gets like 50mpg highway, the new lexus hs hybrid its a good quality luxury car with a fuel efficent 4 cyl hybrid. Or you can get a nissan maxima which gets pretty decent fuel mileage and great performance as well as great build quality, reliability and low maintenance costs. The new taurus is also a nice car. Its pretty economical for its size and has some pretty nice options, and the SHO has 365 hp if thats what you’re looking for. Your best bet is to go down to a couple dealerships and take a look around for some of these cars or other recommendations or whatever you like and take some test drives.
