New Electric Cars Are Better

February 6th, 2010 | by admin | Free Car Quote! Free Car Quote! Free Car Quote!

Just showing off some of the cool new electric cars and putting to rest some of the myths out there. When people think of electric cars, typically they think of older ugly slower models, lead-acid batterys, and BS propaganda they’ve read slamming the “electric cars”(as though they all carried the exact same attributes)
The battery technology has changed(and will change even more when nanowire battery becomes common), the speeds have changed, the climate versatility has changed, the prices are changing, the car companies are changing… everything is changing for the better. I expect to see a lot more support for EV’s during and after 2010.

@chloe7829 I totally agree the light bulb
was invented 100 years ago, as long as
profits are involved you won’t get the full
potential of any technology. Sad to say

    In the 1950ties I …
In the 1950ties I worked for a German supermarket who had a fleet of battery driven delivery trucks. The batteries lasted all day in city driving.
Why are we trying to re-invent the wheel? Which question can also be applied to gasoline from soft coal. A concept that was invented in Germany in the 1940. Why can’t we do it? They tell us that we have plenty of soft coal.

    I’m afraid I don’t …
I’m afraid I don’t understand how hydrogen production requires a ‘corrupt’ monopoly, and nano-tech doesn’t. They BOTH require billions of dollars to develop, and the only source for that is those ‘corrupt industrial systems.’

You might want to tone down the anti-capitalist bent and concentrate on fact. Fact is, the only viable ‘green’ sources of power are hydro and nuke. And the grid needs serious update and repair to support the addition of thousands of car batteries being charged.

    If you’re on solar, …
If you’re on solar, better live next to the sun. The charge time for one of those things on a solar panel is measured in DAYS, not MINUTES.

Since most enviro-whackos haven’t allowed new (viable, not windmill or solar) generation stations to be built, a little problem getting everyone on battery cars…the grid can’t handle that extra load.

Another idea from the folks that brought you the greyout.

Don’t worry mate, GM isn’t holding the cards anymore. Japan, Korea and China all have mass production electric vehicles coming out in the next few years.

    great technology, …
great technology, but aside from Tesla, don’t hold your breath expecting them to hit the mass market at an affordable price. most of them are concept cars and concept cars are ’shiny object’ 2 make us think they’re innovating.

    Companies need to …
Companies need to think laterally with regard to Electric vehicles, and see all the opportunities that are available for them.

If massive incentives are given towards purchasing EV’s, then you instantly have a requirement for many, many charging points, both in place of current fuel pumps and also home ‘kits’. There’s also solar arrays for home or office use, the list goes on…it just takes a leap of ‘faith’ by companies.

    No no – let’s say …
No no – let’s say you actually manage to travel 500 miles in a month – your electric bill will be an extra 5 bucks that month.

When was the last time you traveled 1000 miles on 10 dollars?

  20. By Kingshitv4 on Feb 6, 2010

    lol all the money …
lol all the money you save from not buying gasoline gets taken away from electricity bill from all the charges. so still come out almost even. now if they made a vehicle run on thats amazing!

    The problem is that …
The problem is that no self-respecting (greedy) investor (whos only interest is making as much money as possible at any cost) is going to put money into a product that once sold gives no more return (I.E. EVs with batteries, and solar panels) not when they can invest in, and promote an auto that requires a fuel (I.E. gas, hydrogen, ethanol,). A fuel that the car owner has no choice but to buy from them, increasing their profits significantly.
