I was rear-ended by some idiot who wasn’t paying attention while I was stopped at a red light. The other person got a ticket, their insurance said they admit fault and they’d take care of things…but so far I’ve been having to take my car back and forth to the adjuster, my body shop, and back home for a couple of days now. They say it’s drivable but I’m not too happy about driving it around (the bumper looks like it might fall off with a good thump) and my exhaust pipe is bent. They say they won’t give me a rental unless I leave my car with THEIR auto shop (and I don’t trust them to do a good job) and until my parts come in to the other auto shop.

I’ve never been in an accident before, so is this (calling the other agent, calling my agent, never getting a direct phone answer, leaving messages all the time, waiting for things to happen) normal procedure? My parents are furious that I’m supposedly doing all the work while my insurance people aren’t really doing anything, but that’s another story…

Also, the other insurance (the lizard people) are saying they won’t guarantee any medical bills from my accident. Apparently they have to “review” paperwork and stuff, which makes sense if I am trying to get medical stuff from unrelated things, but I’m afraid they won’t pay for any bills from a chiropractor, and I haven’t been able to go yet. I went to a doctor and he said I just have whiplash, which should heal up with rest, but it still hurts. I don’t want to go to a chiropractor and find out I have to pay out of pocket. Can anyone give me advice with medical stuff after an accident?

my suggestions is to nut buy used cars in the gulf of mexico area. or go for the carfaqs. i just bought (in feb) a flooded car. looking further into (after purchase, learn from my mistake please) i find that it has been registered in a county that was underwater during hurricane ike. electrical problems on a regular basis….

i thought the seller seemed trustworthy and he was concerned about my kids, so he told me ”not this car, i’m not satisfied enough to put kids in it… lokk at this one”..

I just posted my car on craigslist for 15k.
it’s a new honda . I can’t afford the monthly payments, plus i think i would rather buy a second hand car than a new one. I just like cars because they are good to transport me from one place to another.

Anyway, I just posted “Car for sale” online and i am starting my new job next tuesday. If i sell it off before that day, I can go to work by walking because my workplace is less that a mile away.

I am hoping that won’t be much problem. eventhough the area is not “too great” .
but i have the first shift from 7 a. m to 3.30 p.m. which is good .

I think i will be able to save 1,500 atleast from the car sale and I want to buy an old bmw , probably a 1999 for around 2,000-3000.
The thing is i have no savings right now and I want to buy this car . I can save up money soon because after I sell off my honda i will have an extra 425 dollars coming in every month ( that was the monthly payment for honda ) .

What do you think ?Will my plan work? I don’t want to be on foot for long because if god forbid I lose my job. I will be stuck with no job and no where to go to find a job!

Going from a Honda to a BMW is not as easy as you think. Honda is THE most reliable car on the market, BMW, not so much. You need to be prepared to have a car that needs a lot more maintenance than a Honda. Not to mention a higher hourly rate for repairs. You would be better off getting an older Honda or Toyota.

My husband and I are in the market for a new car (as in an 06) and we’ve been told that our credit is horrible and we would need a huge down payment and a co-signer. I know of about 5 different people who bought new cars and their credit is worse than ours and they managed to get no down payment and didn’t need a co-signer. How does that work.

Most ‘bad credit’ car loans wind up costing you a fortune – either in very high interest rates or high car price. My best advice is to fix your credit, then buy a new car.

While your credit is under repair, keep finding $500 cars to get you through. Even if one only lasts 6 months, you’re 5 car payments ahead, see?

Also, a downpayment should be seriously considered. Even if your trade is the downpayment, your monthlies are that much lower. Pay the sales tax up front as well. Why pay interest on tax? That makes no sense. If you owe more than the trade is worth, keep it! Trade when the value exceeds the remaining payments!
