Everyone know that teenagers have a high risk of being involved in accidents. And yet I see parents (in my line of work), all the time, buying their teenagers new cars. Do they not mind throwing the money away? How about making the kid get a job to earn their car. They might drive more carefully if they’ve worked for the car.
I’d especially like to hear from parents who have bought their teen a brand new car.
When my girls were teenagers, I couldn’t afford to buy them a new car, a car, or even a car for myself, we public transporationed it. My daughters got cars after they had jobs and could afford to pay for them – their selves. Now if I had been able to do such a thing, I don’t believe that I would have, I am a strong advocate for older children to earn their way. The thing is that anything not worked for, isn’t cherished as much. God Bless.

Looking to buy a brand new car. I am looking for something efficient and economical, and most importantly, reliable (won’t break down, no high maintenance costs, low insurance rates). I don’t necessarily mean a cheap car, but I mean which car will provide the above criteria and will get me the most for my money?
england or america?
i saw some answers like ford falcon. they don’t make those over here in america anymore.
don’t get a prius.
they suck.
any toyota except the yaris, and all Honda’s
lexus, mazda and acura are good.
if its only you, camry, accord, civic, or corolla.
mazda 3 is dependable as anything, its really safe, and use full for cargo.
if you want a more upscale car, i would go with an acura over a lexus, they ride like a pillow and are more economical.
are you a parent?
if you need to cart around kids, try a camry or accord, and if you haul pets and cargo, land cruiser or sequoia will fit your bill. the honda pilot is a better choice than the Toyota’s, but it has more road noise. do NOT get any VW’s. we had one, and it was noisy, ugly, broke down, smelly, it was just horrible.
hope this helps, if you need more detail just ask.
if you are looking

I loaned my brand new car to a friend for an emergency. She didn’t smoke in the car, but she smoked, then got in the car, so it still smells. How can I get it to smell like a new car again?
Someone else mentioned charcoal – I found the perfect product that I’ve used for years and know dozens of other people that use it. It is a product called FRIDGE IT carbon odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great. The carbon literally absorbs and eliminates the odors and works for a long time. It works so much better than all those sprays and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn’t get rid of them. Also, alot of sprays have warning statements about being eye irritant. and gels that say keep away from fabric, etc. and just don’t eliminate odors. Just put a couple of these in your car and trunk. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails – it’s that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it. Someone else even said available in England. Definitely worth trying

New car salespeople make less than you think. Because selling a new car is easier than selling a used car, the used car guys make more.
Also, new cars are competitive. If you dont like the deal being offered, you can just go to another dealer of the same brand and buy the car elsewhere.
A used car is somewhat unique. Where else are you going to find this exact model, year, mileage and options? How much did it cost the dealership to obtain the car – was it traded in and bought right? Was it bought at auction etc.
new car salesman make a few hundred dollars per unit, depending on brand.
Used cars can be a flat $200 to multiple thousands depending on the amount of profit in each sale.

Notice that new smell of a brand new car? Nothing feels as great as having your car smell like brand new. It just gives a great feeling. Unfortunately, the smell is temporary and you might be interested in purchasing another new car in the future just for that smell. But isn’t there something I could buy for the car so it smell like brand new again?
nope, that smell came from the materials used, the seat padding, the seat material the headliner, the carpet underlayment, the carpetting add the clean no dust condition inside the dash board and never opperated components. thats the smell and even a fresh custom bumper to bumper build doesnt replicate that totally
