These are allowed by the law since this is where the state earns its revenues. However, you also need to check the state and sales taxes applicable to your state since there are dealers that inflate the taxes charged against you when buying a car to maximize profits.

2. Documentation fees

Another factor that causes the new car price to change is the cost of documentation. These fees are charged against you when you buy a car since you need to pay the expenses involved in preparing the car’s documents. These fees are also determined by law and the amounts involved in these vary from one state to another. You also need to check the amounts that dealerships place on these fees to make sure that they are not taking advantage of you.

3. Hidden charges

Finally, there are other hidden charges that dealerships charge against their customers. This includes extended warranties, destination charges, and preparation fees which are most of the time not allowed. Check these charges and demand to have it removed as soon as you know that these are not allowed by law.
