My auto dealer removed my new car window sticker and "lost it" and continues to say a duplicate will be obtained but it never happens and my calls are now ignored. I understand a new car window sticker guarantee is upheld by law referencing the: Automobile Information Disclosure Act of 1958, after which the sticker became known as a Monroney sticker in the industry, named after Almer Stillwell "Mike" Monroney, United States Senator from Oklahoma. What recourse am I privy to?
The act prohibits removal of the sticker BEFORE sale, it doesn’t stipulate it has to be left on, or given with, once the vehicle is sold.
If you wanted the sticker you probably should have taken it with you, it would have been easier.
Good luck.

Typically when searching cars you must provide your zipcode. I want to simply know what dealer is selling a specific car for the cheapest price regardless of where they are located in the U.S.
Go to autotrader.com and choose a no mile radius.

I have two old cars, but I only need to buy one new one.
I wondered with the economy as bad as it is. Would a car dealer ever consider taking two old cars both 10 years old as trade in on the new car? Is there any car salesmen in the audience here?
Some may, depending on the type and condition of the cars and what car you want to buy. The only way to find out is ask. However I wouldn’t tell them I had a trade until I had an agreed on price on the new one. Then ask them and you’ll find out how much you’re getting for the trades. If you go in there with the trades up front you never really know whether they really gave you anything for your car(s) or not.

Theres this car for sale down the street for 5000.00 can i get a loan to get it and pay a bank payment or can you only get car loans through a dealer?
Yes, if you meet the credit and debt/income requirements of the lender and the car is worth at least $5,000, you should have no problem.
Unless it is a ‘buy here, pay here’ lot, the dealer will go through a bank to get you approved, anyways. I suggest you do the legwork on your own. You can usually find a better rate than the dealer if you have decent credit.
Also, if you have decent credit, I would stay away from ‘buy here pay here’ lots. When they do their own financing, the APR is usually outrageous (20+%) and they make you pay every 2 weeks.

I’ve been looking at this car and it is the best price that I have found. I want to wait until the end of June so I can put a couple grand down on it. My question is..its been at the dealership for about 3 weeks, do you think it will be there when I am ready for it..How long does it normally take a car to sale on a dealer lot?
They said that if that car is sold they can find on just like it so Im not too concerned..just curious.
end of june? six more weeks? Highly unlikely.
Most dealers want a car turned in 30 days. After 30 days, it will be either discounted to try and sell quickly, or sent to auction.
Some dealers I know WILL sit on a car forever. But usually that is a losing game, so dont count on it.

i would like to purchase my first car using car finance and would like to know if this can be used to purchase a private sale car i.e from a friend or motor weekly etc or does the purchase have to be made from a dealer?
yes you can get it with private party car finance, It’s a person to person car loan when you purchase your vehicle from a private party and not a dealer. This sort of financing has some of the same features as loans from a dealership purchase. However, there are of course some key differences.
Private Party Financing loan terms tend to be less than purchasing a new car from a dealer. A new car loan is typically offered for as long as seventy two months. On the other side, the maximum available loan term for private party car financing is usually forty eight months.

what is the sales tax rate for buying a new car or used car in california?
It varies by city.
You cannot buy a car in another city with a lower tax rate to avoid the higher rate in your city.
The car dealer will ask you where you live and you still have to pay the full tax for your city. I know, it sucks. But many cities are going broke so they want their fair share.
Anyway, see:

I just bought a new car. I still didnt receive the registration number plate for it. Whereas my old car totally died yesterday and I was wondering whether it is possible to get my old cars number plate transferred to new car without getting a new number for the new car? what is the procedure?
I am assuming you are talking about license plates. Unless you have vanity/personalized plates you do not transfer regular plates from one car to another, since the DMV of your state will assign you the plate number. Even if you have vanity plates you will still need to contact the DMV stating you want to switch over your plates to your new car.
When you bought the new car, the dealer or private party seller should have notified the DMV of the sale, and you should have done the same(for private party used car sales). If you did this, the DMV or dealer would have given you temporary tags until your plates arrive in the mail.
