The negative point is that these cars can be quite hard to find in the first place if one is specific about a particular make and model. In addition, the parts and spares might be difficult to find, since manufacturing of the parts stops after the vehicle goes off the assembly line. However, at times it’s possible for one to avail a used car in good condition, that might look and run like a new one. But such models are rare and might be associated with problems that might be difficult to cope up with. Another negative point is that generally used cars also do not offer good mileage, and so it might be expensive to maintain them. The primary reason for this is older models and makes do not include some of the newest technology, which help in providing better fuel efficiency. Even engines are better in newer cars. However, one can buy cheap used car for a good price, instead of availing a loan and redeeming a lot of money in form of interest.

I mean, I think of how many new cars are probably made and even sold in one day, and sometimes I wonder if we’re being way overcharged for new cars. What do you think? Does it really cost them $20,000 +++ to build them?

I don’t think cars are overpriced, if by that you mean they have an artificially high, inflated profit margin. Too many car manufacturers (domestic and import) are not profitable for that to be the case. In addition to the basic manufacturing costs of a car, you’ve got to consider development costs, marketing, warranty claims, and everything else that adds overhead. I think it’s more a case that people just spend too much on them.

If you just want basic transportation to get you from point A to point B, you can get still get a brand new compact car with power windows/locks and AC for around $15k.

But people have demonstrated they’re more than willing to spend $25k+ for bigger, heavier cars with bigger engines and all kinds of optional luxury conveniences (moonroofs, large alloy wheels, premium stereos, leather seating, power seats, etc). Heck, people will spend $35k+ just to get a "luxury" version of a car that already has these accessories!

all these car manufacturers have stopped production because no one is buying cars… they have huge stock piles of brand new cars, sitting in huge fields, doing nothing but depreciate

will they be sold for dirty cheap?
will they be scrapped/recycled?
yeah this bail out plan is a load of bull… the government spend money like its a drugged up alcoholic teen…

My view on this is that the cars are sitting in an outdoor enviroment just rusting ! sort of puts the rustproof warranties out the door !

Of course, I think they need to wash the car after painting it also, don’t they?

Also how many new cars are manufactured each day, around the world?

Does anyone know?
I did not know that. But I do dare assume they use huge amounts of water to wash off the chemicals before putting on the paint?
Please, educate me on this issue.
I have heard many different stories.

They are not washed with water. They are chemically cleaned in dipping tanks.
