Question by deltadogs60: used car pricing?
Asking price from dealer $ 6890 2001 dodge caravan 71,000 miles. Very nice shape. This car is at a small used car lot. Going by the edmunds TMV below, what is a fair offer to the dealer selling the vechile? Also…which figure do you go by to make the offer??? A few hundred over “Private Party Sale”? I’m confused on this issue. Thank You.

I would start at the private party price and negotiate up to no more than the halfway mark between the private party price and the dealer price.

Well, Ginger…JeffyB drives an 06 Mazda Miata, and an 07 Honda CRV. In fact, I probably test drive far more cars than the average person. That doesn’t mean I am always right, but ALOT of people I know come to me for car advice, because cars are one of my passions.
If you think my opinions are all wet, I suggest you read the owner reviews on edmunds.com, or see what Consumer Reports has to say. Both derive their results directly from owners. But, hey, it’s your money…

you shouldn’t have a hard time selling it for that amount,if it was close to Tennessee, i would probably buy it,but i bought one already this week to re-sale.try running an add in your local auto trader for it,it will bring that much real easy,those are good cars,and that one with low miles on it should sell good,id ask more than that for it though ,that’s a little cheap for a good car now days,good luck with it.

My car sometime start weak and sometime it start strong! It got a new battery what could cause this problem? The car is a 2000 Dodge Durango 5.9 engine!

It is most likely a bad connection causing a voltage drop in the starter circuit. Most likely causes are where the cables connect to the battery and/ or the starter. You can use a voltmeter to perform a voltage drop test at each connection. Place the test leads across each connection while someone "cranks" the starter. If the the Volt meter shows any significant voltage, you have found your bad connection.
