By law, a store cannot call something a “sale” unless actually lower-than-usual prices are applied. So seemingly all the stores, auto dealers, etc. are PRETENDING to offer savings by holding “events.” I’m betting that MOST people don’t realize they’re being **conned** by that. How long to you think it’ll take for society in general to recognize that deception and dishonesty for what it is?

I follow you on that one. People are so feeble minded and so naive that believe anything they throw at them. I remember the Lexus commercials about their so called “Events”. For me the word Sale is a Sale, not a discount. By all accounts and technically speaking all items in a store are for Sale. Is a very misleading word. The word Sale does not means a Discount but people are so stupid that they fall for it.

By the way, that is how they make money, by Selling goods, not by Discounts.

My dad I consider him one of the greatest salesman ever. I used to go to demonstrations from the advertisement companies and making market analysis and what to sell what, when and how. Lets say for a example… Take a car and overprice it and becomes some good. Since people thinks that expensive is good and also vanity is a killer too. So Toyota takes an Avalon, gold trimmed, leather seated, 2 tone paint like a Benz, overprice it and called it Lexus. There you have it a regular Toyota in disguised and people falls for it.

Question by Clinton167: What do you feel of these “cash for utilised cars” sites?
I will need to sell my vehicle. It is a ’91 Toyota Camry and runs fine, does not look too negative, but will not pass the smog simply because of engine trouble which will cost very a bit too fix. Hence, no one would like to get it. I’ve noticed these sites that offer money for your used vehicle – has any person had any knowledge with them??

Just showing off some of the cool new electric cars and putting to rest some of the myths out there. When people think of electric cars, typically they think of older ugly slower models, lead-acid batterys, and BS propaganda they’ve read slamming the “electric cars”(as though they all carried the exact same attributes)
The battery technology has changed(and will change even more when nanowire battery becomes common), the speeds have changed, the climate versatility has changed, the prices are changing, the car companies are changing… everything is changing for the better. I expect to see a lot more support for EV’s during and after 2010.
